New communication technologies do not fundamentally alter the theoretical bounds of human interaction; such interaction continues to be governed by basic human tendencies.
—Marco Yzer and Brian Southwell

This is what happens when you don’t have cable.

Makes me sound crazy just from the title, right?

Everyone has a voice. Every voice has a bias.

  • Some have a vested interest in my future.
  • Some have had a rough past.
  • Some are pessimists hiding under the guise of a realist.
  • Some just can’t relate.

Discernment is hard.

It’s difficult to learn which voices to listen to.

It’s more difficult to build distance from the others.

But it is necessary.

It doesn’t mean that I don’t care, it just means that not every voice is the right influence for that moment.
